Vail

Food & Drink

Top Restaurants
  • Alpenrose One of the best restaurants in Vail! We went here three times between après ski and dinner because the Bavarian vibe and food were unbeatable. We would highly recommend grabbing an après ski table on the patio, especially when it is snowing out!
  • Almresi Almresi was a great spot for dinner, we felt like we had been transported to the European Alps! Service staff dressed in typical Bavarian fashion, rustic interior with cow or sheep skin seating, and top notch German/Austrian food and drinks.
  • Vintage We had to try Vintage before we left Vail and it did not disappoint! This French bistro is another one of Vail's gems, serving classic French fare and amazing cocktails.
Top Bars
  • King's Club (in the Sonnenalp Hotel) Cocktails and live entertainment in front of a roaring fire. Perfect for après ski or après dinner. Our après ski in front of a fire, listening to live piano and sipping Glühweinn was one of the highlights of our trip!
  • Two Arrows Bar Coffee shop by day and bar by night, Two Arrows is definitely worth a visit. This is the perfect spot to grab a little caffeine fix before the slopes, or a coffee-infused cocktail après ski. Try to grab a window nook table if you can!
  • Root and Flower This cocktail bar is perfect for après ski or a pre-dinner drink. After sitting down at the bar, the bartenders asked us about what we liked to drink and mixed all of us the perfect cocktail.
Top Apres-Ski Bars
  • Fireside Lounge (Grant Hyatt) When we walked in we noticed the vending machine selling Moet champagne—very classy. Then we walked toward the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the massive pool, hotub and Gore Creek. The chandeliers, the grand piano and the fire blazing made this moment just feel right—the Grand Hyatt Vail had nailed it. The Fireside Lounge provides inventive après-ski food, drink, music, breathtaking mountain views and a can’t-miss social scene.
  • Bart and Yeti's Tucked in the Lifthouse Lodge in Lionshead is this little Vail bar and eats joint. Bart and Yeti’s is pretty much a staple you need to visit every time you are in Vail.
  • Garfinkel’s Over the years some things have changed but the feeling of Garfinkel’s as a classic ski town sports bar/grill atmosphere remains the same. Seasons pass by, memories are created, good times are had, and lifelong friends are made. The walls inside tell the stories of the past with photos of patrons, athletes, and events gone by. You could one day be one of them.
